The residents of Kabango cell and the neighbouring villages have abandoned their homes due to fear of arrests after police have apprehended 29 suspects in connection to the murder of a police officer in Ibanda district.
This follows the murder of PC Chemonges Suleiman, a 28-year-old police officer attached to Bisheshe police station in Ibanda District, after being attacked by a mob in Ibanda while guarding the funeral of Kahangire Lazarus, an inmate who died at Nyabuhikye.
Police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke has confirmed the arrest of the suspects noting, the search for addition perpetrators is still ongoing .
