As Christians across Uganda and the world celebrate Easter, the Uganda Police Force has released a heartfelt message emphasizing not only the spiritual importance of the season but also the need for heightened public vigilance and collective security.
In their official Easter statement, the Police described Easter as a “central and sacred period in Christianity,” honoring the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a time of hope, renewal, and spiritual reflection.
Recognizing its profound significance, the Uganda Police extended warm wishes to all Ugandans for a peaceful and joyous celebration.
However, amid the festivities, the Police are calling on the public to be alert and proactive in maintaining security.
“These periods often amplify vulnerability to criminal activities,” the statement warns, encouraging individual vigilance, community watch programs, and stronger security measures at public venues, particularly places of worship.
Churchgoers have been specifically advised to remain cautious in their surroundings and to collaborate with security agencies to ensure safe worship experiences.
Additionally, motorists have been reminded to strictly observe road safety rules, a crucial reminder as travel increases during the holiday period.
The Uganda Police Force concluded with a powerful message of unity: “By working collectively, we can ensure the maintenance of security and harmony.”
This Easter, Ugandans are not only called to reflect spiritually but also to act responsibly and look out for one another, reaffirming the strength found in community and vigilance.
