A disturbing case of suspected murder has rocked Namawojjolo East village in Mukono district after a young woman was reported missing and later found dead.
The victim, 25-year-old Nyawede Jackline, was last heard from on April 27, 2025. Her sudden disappearance sparked concern, leading police to begin investigations immediately.
Using phone tracking technology, police discovered that Jackline had been in contact with her ex-boyfriend, Muyagu Abu, shortly before her phone went offline. This critical clue led investigators straight to Abu’s home.
During a search of the house, police made a horrifying discovery. Not only was Jackline’s phone found, but also a human head that had been wrapped up. The gruesome find was quickly followed by the discovery of a headless body in a nearby garden. It is believed to be Jackline’s.
Three suspects have since been arrested in connection with the murder. These include Abu Muyagu, 28; Kizito Mubaraka, 34, who is said to be a traditional healer; and Bakabulindi James, 28. Police believe the crime may have involved ritualistic elements, although investigations are still ongoing.
The remains of the victim have been taken to Mulago hospital for a postmortem to confirm identity and cause of death. The crime scene has been thoroughly examined and documented by the police as they work to piece together exactly what happened.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango confirmed the arrests and assured the public that justice will be pursued. The community has been left in shock by the brutality of the crime, as more details continue to surface.
