BREAKING!! UPDF Suspends All Military Cooperation with Germany Over Alleged Subversive Activities by Ambassador

Must read

In a surprising and serious move, the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has announced the immediate suspension of all defence and military cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany. This decision comes after what officials describe as credible intelligence pointing to the involvement of the German Ambassador in Uganda, His Excellency Mathias Schauer, in activities considered harmful to Uganda’s national security.

According to UPDF sources, the suspension was prompted by reports that Ambassador Schauer has been secretly engaging with groups described as “hostile pseudo political-military forces” that are working against the Ugandan government. These groups, according to the intelligence, are suspected of attempting to destabilize the country through underground political and military tactics.

“The Uganda People’s Defence Forces has, with immediate effect, suspended all ongoing defence and military cooperation activities with the Federal Republic of Germany,” a source within the army confirmed.

The UPDF emphasized that the suspension will remain in place until the matter is fully resolved and the Ambassador’s alleged actions are properly investigated. The army expressed serious concern over what it views as a breach of diplomatic conduct and interference in Uganda’s internal affairs.

Defence cooperation between Uganda and Germany has included military training, logistical support, and intelligence sharing. The sudden halt in these activities is expected to send strong signals both locally and internationally.

Government insiders believe this suspension will spark diplomatic conversations between Kampala and Berlin. However, Ugandan authorities appear firm on their position, stressing the importance of national sovereignty and non-interference by foreign envoys.

As of now, the German Embassy in Kampala has not issued an official response to the allegations or the suspension. More details are expected in the coming days as the situation continues to unfold.

This marks a rare and bold move by Uganda in dealing with international diplomatic tensions, especially with a long-time partner like Germany.
