CID Boss Arrested Over Theft Of UTL Cables

Police is holding one of its own over allegations of theft of Uganda Telecommunication Cables and illegally releasing an exhibit vehicle.

The arrested officer has been identified as ASP Allan Rukema Twishime who is the officer in charge criminal investigations Department at katwe police station.

Asp Allan Twishime has just been in office for a month after replacing Fred Eriku who was taken to Aswa Region as regional CID officer last month.

According to our spies at katwe police station, arrested Allan released an exhibit vehicle which had suspected stolen cables belonging to UTL which had been parked at katwe police station for safe custody pending to be taken to old Kampala police station where the case was being handled.

Our spies said that security operatives while in a night operation intercepted the truck along old Kampala areas after getting intelligence information that it had suspected stolen cables and that upon chasing it, the driver drove on a high speed going into the directions of katwe.

Security officers then contacted SSP Olala Johnson the Kampala metropolitan CID commander that the vehicle was driven towards katwe areas and he Olala called Oc Cid katwe to intercept the vehicle and park it at the station.

Our spies added that the vehicle was released at night and all cables were removed and replaced by shop materials adding that upon re impounding it there were no cables inside. In his defense before being arrested Asp Allan said that he released the vehicle and ordered occupants to drive it to old Kampala where their case is being handled.

However Olala was shocked after getting information that the vehicle was released at night on orders of Asp Allan and that all the cables were stolen and replaced with shop materials.

KMP CID Commander immediately ordered for his arrest and he is currently being held at Railway grounds police cells.

Our spies added that his immediate arrest and detention was ordered by deputy inspector General of police Maj Gen Sabit Muzeyi who had knowledge on the same operation being carried out by KMP CID.

“This man might be even be reverted because you can’t tamper with the operation where D/IGP is involved and by doing your own manyanga,”says one of the police officers who asked not to be revealed.

Efforts to get comments from Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango and his deputy Luke Owoyesigire were futile as they couldn’t pick our calls.
