Police in Kampala has started for the hunt of city musician Mayanja Pius commonly known as Pallaso over theft and malicious damage of properties.
According to Police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan areas Luke Owoyesigyire police in Katwe was on night operations enforcing curfew and other presidential Directives.
He says that while on their way, they were also tipped by their informers that there was a group of youth in Luwafu zone in Makindye who had given local residents sleepless nights with a lot of impunity.
“The residence where a lot of noise was coming from belonged to Pallaso,” says Luke. He added that police officers under the Command of ASP Mutume Sylvia stormed the residence to put the situation to order.
Luke further said police found over 20 people at Pallaso’s home both males and females drinking alcohol and smoking shisha and making unnecessary noise.
“The Police commander tried to talk to Pallaso and his team to reduce the volume of their music and also reminded them of social gatherings saying they were committing offences,” says Luke.
He added that while the Commander was still addressing them, Pallaso and his team lost their tempers and started shouting and abusing police officers. “Get out of here you can’t do anything to us because we are at our home and enjoying our rights. We are recording videos of our selves,” Pallaso was quoted saying while drunk.
Police spokesperson says Pallaso and Henry Kasozi were arrested. “During the arrest, Pallaso ran away with police handcuffs and even damaged peoples properties like Televisions,” says Luke.
Luke says It’s not the first time that PALASO and associates have been involved in violent acts and fight with security personnel within Katwe Division.
