Katwe Police is holding a once-powerful city socialite, Bryan Kirumira, popularly known as Bryan White, over allegations surrounding the death of his girlfriend, Caroline Nalubwama. The 25-year-old woman reportedly sustained severe injuries from a gas explosion at Bryan White’s residence. She was rushed to Kiruddu Hospital, where doctors later pronounced her dead. The incident occurred on October 27, 2025, at around 3:30 pm, according to police records—though the suspect insists it happened later in the evening.
Caroline’s father, Mutyaba Tom (52), reported the matter to Katwe Police Station the same day at 9:00 pm. Police immediately opened case DEF 73/2025 to investigate the suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. Her body was transferred to City Mortuary Mulago for a post-mortem examination, while homicide detectives, forensic experts, and fire officers examined the scene. Some burnt clothes and partially damaged curtains were recovered; however, the room showed minimal fire damage, raising doubts about the official account of a gas explosion.
Bryan White also sustained injuries from the alleged blast and is currently admitted to Mildmay Hospital in Lweza, Wakiso District. Detectives have recorded his statement and issued a PF3 to support ongoing investigations. Preliminary findings indicate that Caroline had been residing in one of the rooms at Bryan White’s home, while the explosion reportedly occurred in a different room. Investigators also noted that White owns several shrines within his compound, heavily guarded by military police—an element that has added further complexity to the case.
Police have highlighted inconsistencies in the timeline of events. While Bryan White claims the incident occurred around 7:00 pm, the hospital’s death notification places Caroline’s time of death at 4:30 pm, deepening doubts about his version of events. Detectives suspect that the scene may have been tampered with or staged. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed to verify the timeline and circumstances of the incident.
As investigations continue, police are appealing to anyone with relevant information to come forward. The case underscores the urgent need for a thorough and transparent inquiry to determine whether Caroline’s death was a tragic accident—or the result of foul play.
