A combined security team of UPDF, Police and intelligence units have today impounded a total of 167 motor vehicles who refused to comply with the Presidential directive that he announced yesterday.
Patrick Onyango the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson told us that security had deployed in strategic places where they set up check points, also used foot and motorists patrols to enforce the directive.
“We deployed our officers both in uniforms and civilian clothes in our strategic places, used foot and motorists patrols to ensure we enforce the presidential directive,” says Onyango.
Onyango added that most people especially motorists complied with the directive apart from few individuals who were driving their cars and we impounded all their cars. 167 in total and are parked at our different police stations.
