The ministry of health Uganda has confirmed 11 new COVID19 cases among the 2,330 samples tested on 28th June, 2020.
Among new cases, seven (7) were got from 546 samples of alerts and contacts while the other four (4) were got from 1,784 samples tested at points of entry.
“Four (4) of the confirmed cases are truck drivers, three (3) of whom arrived from Kenya via Malaba while one arrived from South Sudan via Elegu. The seven cases from alerts and contacts include; six (6) from Tororo and one (1) from Koboko districts.” reads part of the statement from the ministry.
It further states that a total of 34 foreign truck drivers including 26 Kenyans, 5 Tanzanians, 1 Burundian, 1 Eritrean, and 1 Somali who tested positive for COVID19 were handed over to their respective countries of origin.
To date, Uganda registers a total of 870 confirmed COVID19 cases, 808 recoveries.
