The ministry of health Uganda has confirmed nineteen (19) new COVID19 cases from the 2,170 samples tested on 29th June, 2020.
According to the ministry, all confirmed cases are Ugandans and are all among the 871 samples of alerts and contacts tested.
“Eleven (11) of the confirmed cases are passengers who have just returned from Afghanistan and were all under quarantine at the time of test. The other seven (7) cases are from Amuru district while one (1) is from Kyotera district.” read part of the statement from the ministry.
It adds that a total of twenty five (25) foreign truck drivers including 15 Kenyans, 7 Tanzanians, 2 Egyptians and 1 Burundian who tested positive for COVID19 were handed over to their respective countries of origin.
To date, Uganda registers a total of 889 confirmed COVID19 cases and 819 recoveries.
