COVID-19: Uganda Registers 23 New Cases, Total Now Stands At 198

The ministry of health Uganda has confirmed 23 new COVID-19 cases out of the 1,187 samples tested on 23 May,2020.

According to the ministry, 19 new cases are truck drivers who arrived via Elegu and Busia while 4 cases are contacts to previously confirmed truck drivers.

The contacts were under quarantine at the time of test.

The ministry adds that 38 positive foreign truck drivers were handed over to their country of origin.

Out of the samples tested, 851 were from Points of Entry while 336 were from community and contacts.

The total confirmed cases in Uganda is now 198.
