COVID-19: Uganda Registers 4 New Cases, Total Hits 893

The ministry of health Uganda has confirmed four (4) new COVID19 cases from 2,059 samples tested on 30th June, 2020.

The confirmed cases include; one (1) truck driver who arrived from Kenya via Malaba while the other three (3) are contacts and alerts; two (2) of whom are from Kyotera and one (1) is from Amuru district.

According to the ministry, sixteen (16) foreign truck drivers including 11 Kenyans, 4 Tanzanians, and 1 congolese who tested positive for COVID19 were not allowed in the country.

To date, Uganda registers a total of 893 confirmed COVID19 cases and 837 recoveries.

The ministry notes that there are 184 active cases on admission; 162 are Ugandans, 3 refugees and 19 foreigners. It further notes that the foreigners and refugees who are admitted in Uganda’s health facilities are not captured in the cumulative confirmed COVID cases of Uganda.
