Crackdown on Fake Tickets!! 12 Arrested Ahead of Uganda Cranes Match

Must read

Twelve individuals have been arrested for selling fake tickets for the highly anticipated CHAN 2024 match between Uganda Cranes and South Africa. Authorities say the arrests come after a series of complaints from fans who were tricked into buying counterfeit tickets. The suspects were reportedly operating both online and on the streets, targeting unsuspecting supporters eager to watch the match at Namboole Stadium.

Security agencies have warned the public to be extra cautious when buying tickets. Fans are advised not to purchase tickets from unofficial sellers, as counterfeit tickets are difficult to spot and may lead to disappointment at the stadium. Even some real tickets have been sold multiple times, meaning only the first person to enter may gain access, while others are turned away.

To ensure fans still enjoy the match safely, CAF has set up fan zones in various locations, including King’s Park Bweyogerere, Kyadondo Rugby Club, and Masindi, where supporters can watch the game on big screens. Security personnel will also be on high alert at the stadium and on surrounding roads to maintain safety and smooth traffic flow.

Authorities have vowed to continue cracking down on ticket fraud ahead of major sporting events, stressing that buying tickets through verified channels is the safest way to enjoy live football. Fans are urged to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activity, and celebrate the Uganda Cranes’ matches without falling victim to scams.
