Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Tom Magambo Rwabudongo, the Director of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), led an important review meeting with CID officers deployed across the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area, including Kampala, Mpigi, and Buikwe. The gathering brought together detectives and investigators working day and night to keep communities safe and respond swiftly to crime.
During the meeting, AIGP Magambo and his team took a close look at ongoing operations aimed at countering the recent isolated cases of criminality within their areas of responsibility. Officers shared updates on investigations, discussed the progress made, and highlighted challenges that need immediate attention. The Director emphasized the need for coordinated action and continuous communication among CID teams to ensure that even the smallest criminal threats are addressed before they escalate.
AIGP Magambo reminded the officers that keeping the public safe requires not only strong investigative skills but also good relationships with local communities. He encouraged them to work closely with residents, local leaders, and other security agencies because community support often leads to valuable information that can help solve cases more quickly.
The meeting also focused on strengthening strategies to prevent crime, improve response times, and ensure that suspects are brought to justice through fair and thorough investigations. Officers left the review with renewed determination to serve with professionalism and dedication, committed to making the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area a safer place for everyone.
