Disgruntled Out Going Mawokota South MP Nsibambi Joins NRM, Begs M7 Ministerial Job

The disgruntled out going Member of Parliament for Mawokota South in Mpigi District Hon Yusifu Nsibambi has finally left FDC party and joined Ruling NRM party, Spyreports has learnt.

Hon Nsibambi was officially unvailed to NRM party today at its Headquarters in Kyadondo in Kampala. The function was attached by NRM Secretary General Richard Todongo, Speaker of Parliament Hon Anita Amongo who also doubles as vice Chairperson female.

“I have fully joined NRM and will be returning FDC membership card,” Says Nsibambi claiming that the party collapsed after Speaker Among left it decades ago. He further says that he is now part of for struggling for peace.

When I talked with President Museveni, I realised he is a good person who listens to everyone. That is not what I experienced on the Opposition side…About 150 of my supporters are ready to join NRM. They are tired of fights and want talks,”- Yusuf Nsibambi after defecting to NRM. The historical FDC member lost the Mawokota South MP seat to the NRM candidate, Suzan Nakawuki, in the January 15, 2026 General Election.

After Nsibambi and other opposition members met the President at State House, Nsibambi begged President for Ministerial Job. “Mr President I beg you to include me on the next Cabinet since I lost the MP seat. I have been taking care of several Children in their schools and have been getting their fees from Parliament” a source quoted him saying after the meeting.
