The 4th Annual East African Communications Organization (EACO) Post & Logistics Forum, EPLF4, is underway this morning at Sheraton Kampala. Since its launch in 2022, the forum has grown into one of the most important regional platforms, bringing together postal operators, regulators, service providers, development partners, and private sector stakeholders from across East Africa.
The forum provides a unique space for collaboration, discussion, and sharing of best practices in postal and logistics services. It also serves as an avenue for policymakers and industry leaders to address challenges, explore innovations, and strengthen partnerships that enhance postal and logistics infrastructure in the region.
The opening ceremony attracted several high-profile figures, including Uganda’s Minister of State for ICT, Godfrey Kabbyanga; Dr. Sifundo Chief Moyo, Secretary General of the Pan-African Postal Union (PAPU); Caroline Koech, Director General of EACO; and Acting Executive Director of Uganda Communications Commission, Fred Otunnu. Their presence underscores the forum’s significance in shaping regional communication and logistics strategies.
Since its inception, EPLF has become a vital platform for discussing the future of postal and logistics services in East Africa. Delegates have the opportunity to engage in constructive dialogue, forge partnerships, and explore technological advancements that can transform the sector. The forum also highlights the growing role of private sector players and development partners in driving innovation and improving efficiency in postal and logistics networks.
As EPLF4 continues, participants are expected to share experiences, challenges, and opportunities that will guide the evolution of postal and logistics services in the region. The forum demonstrates the commitment of East African nations to modernize their communication systems, improve service delivery, and strengthen regional cooperation.
