The Electoral Commission is set to start the display of the National Voters Register at each polling station across the country next month April 2025. Julius Muchunguzi the head communication at the Electoral Commission said that the display of the national voters’ register will be done in line with section 25 of the Electoral Commission Act.
According to the Electoral Commission, The next major item on the EC calendar of the roadmap for the 2025/2026 General Elections is the display of the National Voters Register at each polling station across the country.
This will be done in line with Section 25 of the Electoral Commission Act.
The Act says, before any general Election is held, the commission shall, by notice Gazette, appoint a period of not less than Twenty-one days during which a copy of the voters roll for each parish or ward shall be displayed for public scrutiny.
The Act further states, in addition to twenty-one days referred in subsection (1), the commission shall allow a period of ten days during which any objections or complaints in relation to the names recommended by the tribunal to be included or deleted from the voters roll or in relation to any necessary correction shall be raised or filed.
The electoral commission is preparing the general public for the national voters’ display exercise.
