The Uganda National Household Survey 2023/2024 has just been released, and it paints a clear picture of how people in the country are living today. Carried out by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), this survey gives updated information on important areas like education, health, work, poverty, and how families are doing in general. It helps leaders and decision-makers understand the real situation on the ground.
This is the 8th time the survey has been conducted since it began in 1999/2000. Over the years, it has become one of the most trusted sources of national data. The information collected is used to guide planning, shape new policies, and track how well government services are working. By looking at the real lives of people, it helps ensure that decisions are based on facts, not guesses.
The 2023/2024 results come at a time when many Ugandans are still recovering from the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. With accurate statistics, the government and other partners can better support families who are struggling, improve schools and health centres, and create more jobs. The survey shows where the needs are greatest and where progress is being made. This kind of data is not just numbers; it tells the story of Uganda’s people and helps build a better future for all.
