The peaceful morning in Kasese Town was shattered on Saturday, November 1, 2025, when unknown armed men launched a sudden attack on Kasese Main Police Barracks. The incident, which occurred at around 5:00 a.m., sent shockwaves through the Rwenzori East region as residents woke up to the sound of heavy gunfire.
According to preliminary police information, the attackers—armed with guns, pangas, and catapults—stormed the station and began firing multiple shots into the air, creating panic among officers and nearby residents. Police officers on duty quickly responded, engaging the attackers in a fierce exchange that lasted several minutes.
