Katwe police is holding three gunmen over allegations of tieing a businesswoman with a rope before robbing her on gunpoint.
The robbed business woman has been identified as Victoria Nakitende a resident of kitebi in makindye a Kampala surbub.
Luke owoyesigire the deputy police spokesperson Kampala metropolitan said that three gunmen were intercepted by police officers who were on night patrol at kitebi star in makindye.
“Our officers who were patrolling in the night intercepted a motor vehicle at kitebi star and rescued Victoria Nakitende who had been robbed and tied with a rope by armed thugs,”says Luke owoyesigire.
Owoyesigire identified suspects as Isaac Massa, Senate George William and Ashraf Mubiru who are all detained at katwe police station.
Luke added that police officers recovered exhibits that included one SAR gun rifle with five rounds of ammunitions, ropes, suspected stolen phones, motorcycle keys and other breaking implements.
The arrested gunmen were driving motor vehicle Reg No UAR 179L Toyota Celica which was also impounded.
Luke added that police is investigating allegations of being in possession of illegal gun, stolen items, kidnap, and disobedience of lawful orders since they were intercepted during curfew time.
