Have a Positive Mindset Change, UCC Boss Cautions UICT New Graduates.
Uganda Communications Commission UCC Executive Director, Mr. George William Nyombi Thembo has cautioned graduates to practice what they have been trained and to be agents of positive change.
The UCC Boss made the remarks at the 16th Graduation Ceremony of Uganda Institute of Information and Communication Technology UICT on 19/01/2024. "The skills you possess are not just tools for personal success but instruments that can contribute significantly to the growth and development of our country," Mr. Nyombi Thembo said.
He told the graduates that the ceremony marked a new chapter in their professional lives. "As you step into the workforce, armed with the skills and knowledge acquired at UICT, I urge you to go forth and make a difference in Uganda. Your role as professionals in the communications and ICT sector is crucial in driving our nation's progress," UCC ED said.
Uganda Communications Commission was established under the legal framework of the Uganda Communications Act No. 1 of 1997 and the Electronic Media Act of 1996. Over the years, UCC has evolved into an integrated regulatory body overseeing various sectors, including Telecommunications, Data Communications, Broadcasting, Postal Communication, Radio Communication, and Infrastructure services throughout Uganda. UCC mandate extends to licensing operations of cinematography theatres and video or film libraries in Uganda.
