Hon. Biara Emmanuel Wepukhulu has continued to strengthen his commitment to education through the Biara Foundation Scholarship Program, which is now supporting dozens of bright students from Bulambuli District. The initiative focuses on helping talented learners from humble backgrounds continue their education and achieve their dreams.
Since 2022, the foundation has been sponsoring students who performed well in primary school, particularly those who obtained First Grade from government primary schools. According to Hon. Wepukhulu, the program currently supports 37 students at the O-Level stage, giving them the opportunity to study in some of the region’s respected secondary schools.
Some of the beneficiaries are studying at schools such as Bugisu High School, St Peter Claver Secondary School, and Nabbongo Secondary School, among others. These schools are known for providing quality education, which gives the sponsored students a strong academic foundation and better chances of success in the future.
Hon. Wepukhulu says the scholarship program is not only about helping individual students but also about uplifting the entire education sector in Bulambuli Constituency. By supporting bright learners from disadvantaged backgrounds, the program aims to nurture a generation of responsible, educated, and hardworking citizens who will contribute to the development of their communities.
He further emphasized that the Biara Foundation will continue expanding its support so that more deserving students can benefit in the coming years. According to him, education remains one of the most powerful tools for fighting poverty and creating opportunities for young people.
Through this initiative, Hon. Wepukhulu hopes to groom future leaders from Bulambuli who will play an important role in shaping the district and the country at large. The scholarship program has already begun transforming lives and offering hope to families that previously struggled to afford secondary education.
