Police incorporation with the immigration office has today afternoon forcefully deported Yvonne Chaka Chaka back to South Africa over illegal working permit.
The task team escorted the singer to Entebbe airport where she boarded the next immediate flight to South Africa via Kigali after her ordinary visa was canceled. Our spies say that the immigration office was forced to cancel the visa when they received intelligence that she had come as a performing artiste in one of the New Years events.
The legendary South African artiste who arrived in the country on Monday was supposed to perform at Buganda Kingdom’s long anticipated end of year event known as Enkuuka Y’ Omwaka.
Fred Enanga, Public Relations Kampala Metropolitan confirmed that the singer was sent back to her home country. He adds that Yvonne was advised together with her promoters to get a working visa for her music performance and avoid the pretense of being an ordinary visitor.
Enanga emphasizes that the ordinary visa could not enable her perform. “ The ordinary Visa cannot enable her to perform in any income generating activity in the country. This has been done by the immigration officials and security team to help maintain the integrity of the immigration rules of all visitors in our country including foreign musicians.”
However, before deportation the singer was today morning blocked at Pearl of Africa Hotel by armed men as she attempted to conduct a sound check and final rehearsal.
