Dr Diana Atwine the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of health has today morning rubbished rumors of four Chinese nationals having entered the country with corona virus.
She revealed that the four isolated Chinese foreigners have today morning tested negative for the corona virus.
“There is no cause for alarm since all the four isolated Chinese nationals are safe,”Dr Diana confirmed from her twitter account. She adds “Take heart our teams are working professionally.The good news is that all those isolated turned negative so no cause for alarm.Give us the chance to do our best to safeguard Ugandans,” Diana tweeted.
Yesterday evening, the Ministry of Health said that four Chinese foreigners infected with flu and cough had been isolated after arriving at Entebbe International Airport.
“The four Chinese foreigners were picked up from Entebbe International Airport after showing flu and cough symptoms by our surveillance teams, Samples were collected and are being tested at UVRI. The victims were isolated and are currently admitted at Entebbe Hospital,” the statement said.
Diana has however urged the public to be calm saying that all Chinese foreigners tested negative, calling on Ugandans to have faith in medical professionals.
Covid-19 has so far killed more than 80,000 people globally and more than 40 countries have now been infected.
