Must read

In a shocking pre-dawn attack on May 1st, two armed assailants stormed Chard Energy petrol station along Katosi Road in Mukono district, brutally killing two security guards and making off with cash and mobile phones.

The attackers, wielding a blunt object, assaulted and killed Senabulya Deo, 50, and Onyaiti Joseph, 25, before seizing their firearm loaded with five rounds. The same weapon was then used to threaten and rob pump attendants Tessa Jovita, 23, and Domanye Kevin, 22, of approximately Shs 3 million in cash and their mobile phones.

The firearm was later recovered abandoned near a railway line, offering a potential lead in the hunt for the killers. Police have since gathered evidence, recorded statements, and transported the bodies of the deceased to Mulago Hospital for post-mortem examinations.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango confirmed the ongoing investigation, promising that efforts to bring the culprits to justice are underway.

“This was a calculated and violent crime. We are actively pursuing leads and will not rest until the perpetrators are apprehended,” SSP Onyango stated.

Residents of Mukono are now gripped with fear as authorities intensify their search for the attackers. The tragic incident has raised concerns about the rising spate of violent robberies targeting fuel stations in the region.
