The Government of Uganda has officially commenced the Display of the National Voters Register, marking a critical step toward the 2026 General Elections. The Electoral Commission announced that the exercise will run from April 25 to May 15, 2025, in accordance with Section 26 of the Electoral Commission Act (Cap 176).
This vital process enables registered voters to verify and confirm their details, ensuring accuracy and transparency in the electoral roll. It also provides an opportunity to raise objections or request corrections to voter information.
According to statistics released today, the voters register spans:
146 Cities and Districts
312 Counties
353 Constituencies
2,191 Sub-Counties, Towns & Municipal Divisions
10,716 Parishes
71,208 Villages
38,315 Polling Stations
The Electoral Commission urges all citizens to actively participate in this important exercise by visiting their designated polling stations during the display period.
