The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) have officially announced the return of Major General Felix Kulayigye to his role as the Director of Defence Public Information (DDPI). After taking a short leave, Major General Kulayigye is now back and ready to serve the country in his important position. His return has been confirmed in a statement released by Colonel Chris Magezi, the Military Assistant to the Chief of Defence Forces.
Colonel Magezi noted that he has now stopped acting in the position of DDPI following the return of the substantive director, Maj Gen Kulayigye. The public and media were urged to take note of the change and to continue engaging with the UPDF through the proper channels now that the general is back in office.
Major General Kulayigye is known for his clear communication and strong presence as the voice of the UPDF. His return is expected to bring continued clarity and confidence in how the military shares information with the public. Many in the media and general public will welcome his familiar face and voice as he resumes his official duties.
The UPDF thanked the public for their cooperation during the short period he was away and reaffirmed their commitment to transparency and effective communication. With Maj Gen Kulayigye back on board, the Defence Forces are fully equipped to keep the public informed on important national security matters.
