A quiet evening at Buziga Country Resort turned into chaos on Sunday after a sauna explosion left several people with serious burns. According to information received by Kabalagala Police Division, the incident occurred unexpectedly, causing panic among guests and staff at the facility.
Witnesses say the explosion happened inside the sauna, and within minutes thick smoke filled the area as people rushed out for safety. Those who were inside at the time of the blast sustained burns of varying degrees. Police reported that the victims were immediately rushed to an unknown hospital for emergency treatment. Their condition remains unclear.
The Officer in Charge (OC) of Buziga Police was among the first responders to arrive at the scene. He has since confirmed that investigations are ongoing to establish the exact cause of the explosion. “We are on the ground to assess the situation, and more details will be released soon,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kabalagala Police team has been dispatched to join the efforts at the resort. Authorities have promised to give a more detailed report after gathering full information about the number of victims and the extent of the damage.
