As the electoral commission resumes nomination process, Nsereko Moses an Independent candidate using the Chair as his symbol, is the first candidate on Day 2 to be nominated to contest for Member of Parliament, Kawempe North Division Constituency.
He was turned away yesterday due to inconsistencies in his documents, but says he has since rectified the errors and nominated as an independent candidate but insisted he is NUP leaning.
Speaking to media after a successful nomination, he pledges to address the unemployment burden once elected the member of parliament for Kawempe North constituency.
Nsereko further promised to reintroduce the saving box for low-income earners as it was conducted by the late ssegirinya.
He has joined the four candidates nominated yesterday, Luwemba Lusswa Muhammed independent and usising a radio symbol, counsel Luyimbazi Elias Nalukoola hold NUP card. FDC’s Mukiibi Sadat aka Kalifah Aganaga and Hanifa Karadi Murerwa an NRM leaning independent candidate using a radio as her symbol.
The exercise is being conducted at the Office of the Assistant District Election Administrator, Kawempe Division. However, the nominated candidates have been reminded to adhere to the Electoral Commission guidelines during the campaign period.
Nominations resumed at 9 AM and close at 5 PM.
