Police at Katwe station have in custody a kindergarten van driver over allegations that his reckless driving led to the cause of the death of a pupil from Savannah Kindergarten and daycare center in makindye division, Kampala capital city.
The pupil has been identified as Joan Muyanja aged six years who was pronounced death at Kiruddu hospital and buried in wakiso district on the 25th March 2025
It’s alleged that, the driver whose identity is still anonymous is said to have recklessly over sped the van causing the child to hit her head on the pipe inside the van causing her fainting and rashed to Kiruddu referral hospital where she was declared dead.
The deceased’s parents expressed their dissatisfaction over the death of their child calling for thorough investigations into the matter.
Police is yet to issue a full statement on the matter as investigations are still ongoing.
