M7 Orders CMI To Investigate Sacked Police Officers

President Museveni has directed Chieftaincy of military intelligence (CMI) to begin investigations on the sacked police officers after intelligence leaked them to have been involved in corruption related scandals.

Intelligence sources told us that President Museveni instructed CMI boss Brig. Abel Kanduho to start investigations as soon as Possible and avail him with the report in one month.

Insiders say after Kanduho received instructions, he deployed officers to block the sacked bosses from accessing their offices and picking any document.

“Sir we are on instructions that you don’t pick anything from the office and that you should not even open any computer, “said our source at Naguru based police headquarters.

Security sources added President ordered for investigations of the officers after he was told how they have been messing up recruitment funds. The President was briefed how the directorates of Human Resource and training have been receiving bribes from police officers to get good deployment.

Intelligence sources revealed how President got information that the same directorates have been receiving money from parents before recruiting their sons and daughters in the force.

“The reason why police is not operating well is some officers join the force on forged academic papers because their parents pay heavy bribes to some police bosses,” a source quoted a civilian person telling the President.

Recently over 200 police cadets failed to be confirmed and promoted because they are under investigations by IGG on forged academic documents.

In 2014 President Museveni was annoyed with management at Kabalye training school for failure to train police officers to the standards. Sources say during the pass out some officers failed to match with others during excises which indicated lack of enough training.

Insiders say after the pass out President Museveni instructed former Police Chief Gen Kale Kayihura to remove Kafero from Kabalye. He was later replaced by Frank Mwesigwa who had training from Counter Terrorism.

However sources added that President was informed how money which was meant for training officers was messed up by senior officials from Human Resource and training and students ended up receiving little training.

It is alleged that early this year,  AIGP Balimwoyo had put four of his children for a senior command course in Bwebbajja but was blocked by Inspector General of Police Ochola saying that how can he take four of his children when other officers want to go for the same course.

Early this week, President Museveni issued a message signed by Inspector General of Police Martin Okoth Ochola that sacked Assistant Inspector General of Police Moses Balimwoyo the former Director In charge Human Resource and Administration and replaced him with Col. Jese Kamunanwire, AIGP Haruna Isabirye the former Director In Charge of Human Resource and training who was replaced by Brig.Gen Godfrey Goloba.

Others who were also sacked include SCP Chombe Umur who was acting Director Crime Intelligence now replaced by Col Chris Serujongi, SCP Oyo Nyeko Benson former acting Director Interpol was sent to Afripol in Algeria to replace the wanted former Kayihura Personal Assistant Jonathan Baroza.
