Police and Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) have launched a joint operation to hunt for five armed thugs who robbed shs 20 million and shot dead two mobile Money Agents last night in Zana.
According to police the deceased have been identified as Naluwadde Harriet and Nakabubi Moreen, both residents of Zana cell.
Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan SP Patrick Onyanga told Spyreports that the thugs attacked mobile money agents at around 10:45pm, put them on gunpoint and ordered them to surrender all the money in their possession.
“The armed thugs were moving on three motor cycles, then stormed the mobile money shops and demanded all the money and after handing over the money, they shot them dead and later took off,” said Onyango.
Police mouthpiece added that police responded after the incident, but the thugs but could not arrest them.
“We have got some clues about the robbery and we hope we shall arrest the killers very soon and they face the law,”onyango said adding the bodies have been taken to Mulago mortuary for postmortem.
This is the second robbery in one week after Cheap Hard Ware in Nansana where two people were shot dead and shs 200m robbed.
However eye witness say, the girls first refused to hand over the bags that had money which prompted the thugs to kill them instantly and went off with the money.
