Six police officers were today honored with medals during the #NRMAt40 celebrations held at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. The colorful national event marked 40 years of the National Resistance Movement and brought together leaders, security personnel, and citizens to celebrate the country’s journey.

The officers received awards in different important categories in recognition of their dedication and service to the nation. Among the medals presented was the National Independence Diamond Jubilee Medal, which is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the country. Others were awarded the Personal Sacrifice Medal, which honors those who have endured hardship or risk while serving Uganda.

Some officers were also decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal, a recognition given to individuals who have shown outstanding performance and commitment in their duties. The Gallant Star, one of the respected awards, was presented to officers who demonstrated bravery and courage in the line of duty.

In addition, two officers received the Long Service Medal in appreciation of their many years of loyal and dedicated service to the nation. Their commitment reflects the discipline and resilience expected from members of the police force.

The recognition of these officers highlights the important role security personnel play in maintaining peace, law, and order in the country. The awards also served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by men and women in uniform as Uganda marked four decades of NRM leadership.
