Museveni Rewards Ddamulira!! Hero of Kampala’s Anti-Terror Fights Promoted to Major General

Must read

President Yoweri Museveni has promoted the Director of Crime Intelligence, Brigadier General Christopher Ddamulira, to the rank of Major General. This big step comes as a reward for Ddamulira’s dedicated service in keeping Uganda safe, especially during recent operations where his team stopped dangerous terror attacks in Kampala. The announcement was made by the President on Sunday night, and it was warmly welcomed by security officers and the public.

Major General Ddamulira has played an important role in protecting Ugandans from terrorism. Just in the past few weeks, his intelligence team worked with other security agencies to prevent planned attacks on churches and other crowded places in Munyonyo and Kalerwe. These operations saved many lives. Security officers arrested suspects and seized dangerous explosive materials before harm could be done. Many have praised Ddamulira for leading these successful operations through good planning and teamwork between the police and army.

Before he became the head of crime intelligence, Ddamulira served in the military’s top intelligence body called the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI). During that time, he was part of very risky missions to defeat the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), a rebel group that caused a lot of suffering in northern Uganda. His work helped break up the LRA’s networks and bring peace to places that had long been affected by Joseph Kony’s brutal rebellion.

But Ddamulira’s achievements go beyond fighting crime and rebels. He is also known for his efforts to help young people in the ghettos of Kampala. Many of these youths had been drawn into crime or drug abuse. Ddamulira started programs that reached out to these young people, encouraging them to join government programs, learn new skills, and leave behind bad habits. By working with community leaders, he helped build trust between the police and communities that often felt left out.

The promotion of Ddamulira to Major General shows that President Museveni and the army have great trust in him. It also sends a message that hard work and dedication to protecting the country do not go unnoticed. As Uganda prepares for the 2026 general elections, leaders like Ddamulira will be key in making sure that the country stays safe and peaceful.

Major General Ddamulira, after hearing about his promotion, said he was thankful to the Commander-in-Chief. His rise in rank is seen as a sign of hope and strength at a time when Uganda faces many security challenges.
