The Uganda Police Force is mourning the sudden death of Superintendent of Police (SP) Ronald Mutabazi, a respected and dedicated officer who served as the Officer in Charge of Security at the Judiciary. According to an internal communication from the Commandant of the VIP Protection Unit (VIPPU), SP Mutabazi was found dead at his home in the early hours of Friday, November 7, 2025, around 4:00 a.m.
The news of his passing has sent shockwaves through the police fraternity and the Judiciary, where he was known for his commitment, discipline, and professionalism. Over the years, SP Mutabazi played a vital role in ensuring the safety of judicial officers, court premises, and key legal operations across Uganda. Many of his colleagues have described him as a quiet, hardworking officer who carried out his duties with humility and integrity.
Authorities revealed that arrangements are being made to transfer his body to the hospital for further management. The Police are also working closely with the family to organize funeral and burial plans, with more details expected to be shared in due course.
SP Mutabazi’s death marks a deep loss not only for the Uganda Police Force but also for the Judiciary and everyone who worked closely with him. His dedication to service and his unwavering sense of duty will be remembered by many who had the privilege of knowing him.
