At least 21615 traffic offenders have been arrested and issued with EPS ticket in 19 days.

According Traffic and Road Safety Report for December, the offenders were arrested in an ongoing operation targeting bad driving during the festive season.

Traffic and Road Safety Spokesperson  Faridah Nampiima says that out of the 21615, 682 were arrested for over speeding, 3, 528 for driving DMCs, 1, 180 for not wearing seat belts,  1,481 for having invalid permits and third party issuance (2,207) among others.

Nampiima says that the Directorate is strengthening operations on speeding and enhancing operations on boda boda among others.
