Police in connection with other security agencies in Kamwenge have arrested two people suspected to be agents of Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) Rebels a group that is headed by detained Jamil Mukula.
According information obtained by Security sources the arrested suspects include Bataringaya Godfrey- 36 years, a resident of Nyabugando Village, Kiyagara Parish, Kamwenge Sub County, Kamwenge District and Katamba AbudulAkim, 48, a resident of Mijunju village, Songi Parish, Kibito Sub County, Bunyangabo District.
Inside security sources told that the pair stole an SMG and have been using it to kill and rob innocent people in the areas of Kamwenge, Ibanda,Kitagwenda, Bunyangabo among others. Sources from security added that security had received information that some elements of ADF had stormed the place and were terrorizing people.
“After receiving in formation of ADF Penetration, we highly deployed our forces both in Uniform and Civilians to make sure the agents are arrested and face the law,” a security source says adding that security had camped in the mentioned areas for close to five months.
Another security source says the suspects were arrested today morning in a rented house near Kamwenge town and were found with SMG, seven live bullets, killing objects like sharp knives and a motorcycle registration number UDF 954L which they were using to move from one place to another.
The source says they are currently detained at police but will be transferred to military detention for more investigations and will be charged in Military Court martial.
