COVID-19: 10 Health Workers Test Positive as Uganda Registers 75 New Cases

The ministry of health Uganda has confirmed 75 new COVID19 cases from 4,133 samples tested on 1st September, 2020.

Of the 75 confirmed cases, ten (10) are health workers from Kampala.

Other cases include 65 alerts and contacts of which 30 are  from Kampala, 23 from Buikwe, 6 from Kikuube, 3 from Buvuma, 1 from Jinja, 1 from Mukono, and 1 from Wakiso.

The ministry notes that  ten (10) foreign truck drivers including 7 Kenyan, 2 Tanzanians and 1 Congolese who tested positive for COVID19 were not allowed in to the country.

To date, Uganda registers a total of 3,112 confirmed COVID19 cases , 1,528 recoveries and thirty two (32) deaths.
