COVID-19: 186 Test Positive as Uganda Registers Four New Deaths

Uganda has registered four 4) COVID-19 deaths today. This brings the total COVID-19 deaths to 39.

The deceased include a 51 year male from Kanungu District, 56 year old male from Kampala, 79 year old female from Wakiso and a 60 year old male from Kampala.

In the same vein, the ministry of health has confirmed 186 new COVID-19 from the 4,749 samples tested on 04 September 2020.

Of the confirmed cases, 176 are contacts and alerts including 81 from Kampala, 33 from Gulu , 15 from  Pader , 9 from Kapchorwa , 6 from Mukono , 5  from Kiryandongo, 5 from Mbale , 3 from  Buikwe , 3 from Lamwo ,2 from Bududa , 2 from Iganga , 2 from Wakiso ,1 from Arua , 1 from Butalejja ,1 from Buvuma , 1 from Kanungu,1 from Kibuku, 1 from Kikuube, 1 from Kitgum ,1 from Kyegegwa, 1 from Lira and 1 from Nebbi.

Other cases include 7 Health workers from Jinja (1), Gulu (1), Lamwo (1), Kitgum (1), Mbale (1), Lira (1), Iganga (1) and three (3) truck drivers who arrived via  Malaba(2) and Elegu (1) points of entry.

The ministry adds that 11 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at the borders were not permitted entry into the country.

Uganda now registers a cumulative total of 3,539 confirmed cases and 1,608  recoveries.
