COVID-19: Uganda Registers 10 New Cases

The ministry of health Uganda has confirmed ten (10) new COVID19 cases from the 1,785 samples tested on 23rd July, 2020.

Out of the 10 confirmed cases, four (4) are truck drivers, one (1) is a contact to a confirmed cases from Lwengo, one (1) is an alert from Namisindwa, three (3) are alerts from Kampala while one (1) is a returnee from South Sudan.

Regarding the four(4) truck drivers, two arrived from Kenya via Lwakhakha while the other two arrived from Tanzania and Kenya via Mutukula and Malaba points of entry.

The ministry says a total of 20 foreign truck drivers including 19 Kenyans and one(1) Tanzanian who tested positive for COVID19 were not permitted entry in to the country.

Todate, Uganda registers a total of 1,089 confirmed COVID19 cases, 975 recoveries and one death.
