COVID-19: Uganda Registers 13 New Cases, Total Rises to 1,267

The ministry of health Uganda has confirmed 13 new COVID-19 cases from 2,696 samples tested on 07 August 2020.

The confirmed cases include one (1) truck driver who arrived via Ngomoromo, three (3) contacts from Kampala, Nakaseke and Ngora districts, three (3) returnees including 2 from South Sudan and 1 from DRC.

The other six (6) are alerts including 2 from kampala, 1 from kisoro, 1 from Sheema and 2 from Wakiso.

The ministry notes that a total of nineteen (19) foreign truck drivers who tested positive for COVID-19 at the border points of entry were not permitted entry into the country.

Todate, Uganda registers a cumulative total of 1,267 confirmed cases, 1,115 recoveries and 6 deaths.
