COVID-19: Uganda Registers 201 New Cases as Total Shoots Up to 4,101

The ministry of health Uganda has confirmed 201 new COVID19 cases from 1,989 samples tested on 8th September, 2020.

Of the confirmed cases, 198 are alerts and contacts including 80 from Kitgum, 38 from Kampala, 23 from Moroto, 10 from Gulu, 8 from Amuru, 6 from Lira, 6 from Wakiso, 4 from Kikuube, 4 from Zombo, 3 from Gulu, 2 from Amolator,2 from Buikwe, 2 from Butebo, 2 from Lamwo, 1 from Adjumani, 1 from Arua, 1 from Kasese, 1 from Koboko, 1 from Luwero, 1 from Butaleja, 1 from Mukono, and 1 from Nakaseke.

Among other cases are two (2) truck drivers who arrived via Elegu point of entry and one (1) returnee from UAE.

The ministry notes that one (1) Kenyan foreign truck driver who tested positive for COVID19 were not allowed in to the country.

To date, Uganda registers a total of 4,101 confirmed COVID19 cases, 1,876 recoveries and forty six (46) deaths.
