COVID-19: Uganda Registers 65 New Cases as Total Shoots up to 3,037

The ministry of health Uganda has confirmed 65 new COVID19 cases from 3,564 samples tested on 31th August, 2020.

Of the 65 confirmed cases, 62 are alerts and contacts including 20 from Kampala, 10 from Kikuube, 8 from Luweero, 4 from Buikwe, 4 from Zombo, 3 from Adjumani, 3 from Arua, 2 from Jinja, 1 from Mbarara , 1 from Mayuge , 1 from Pallisa and 1 from Yumbe.

Other cases include one (1) health workers from Kampala and two (2) truck drivers from Padea and Lia.

According to the ministry, two (2) foreign truck drivers including 1 Kenyan and 1 Congolese who tested positive for COVID19 were not allowed in to the country.

To date, Uganda registers a total of 3,037 confirmed COVID19 cases , 1,489 recoveries and thirty two (32) deaths.
