COVID-19: Uganda Registers Two New Deaths as 128 Test Positive

Uganda has registered two (2) new COVID-19 deaths today from Kampala and Jinja. This brings the total COVID-19 deaths to 41.

The ministry of health Uganda has also confirmed 128 new COVID-19 cases from the 4,653 samples tested on 05 September 2020.

Of the confirmed cases , 120 are contacts and alerts including 95 from Kampala, 13 from Wakiso , 3 from Luweero , 2 from  Nwoya , 1from Amuru , 1 from Jinja , 1 from Kanungu , 1 from Manafwa , 1 from Maracha , 1 from Soroti, and 1 from Zombo.

Other cases include one (1) truck driver who arrived via Elegu and 7 Health workers; 2 of whom are from Kampala, 2 from Lira, 2 from Wakiso and 1 from Mityana.

The ministry says one (1) Rwandese truck driver tested positive for COVID-19 at Mirama Hills and his entry was not permitted.

Currently, Uganda registers a cumulative total of 3,667 confirmed cases and 1,608 Ugandan recoveries.
