Uganda has recorded two COVID-19 deaths today. The deceased are both Ugandan nationals and residents of Kampala.
This brings the total of COVID-19 deaths to 32.
Relatedly,the ministry of health Uganda has confirmed 44 new COVID-19 cases from the 2,128 samples taken on 30th August 2020.
Of the new cases, 42 are contacts and alerts including 31 from Kampala, 5 from Wakiso, 1 from Tororo, 2 from Kitgum,2 from Arua and 1 from Gulu.
Other cases include; 1 returnee from UAE and 1 truck drivers who arrived via Malaba.
The ministry adds that four (4) foreign truck drivers including 3 Kenyans and 1 Burundian who tested positive for COVID-19 at the border points of entry were not permitted entry into the country.
Todate, Uganda registers a cumulative total of 2,972 confirmed cases and 1,288 recoveries.
