COVID-19: Uganda’s Death Toll Rises to 60 as 143 Test Positive

Uganda has registered two (2) COVID19 deaths from Soroti and Mbale bringing the total number of COVID19 deaths to sixty (60).

The ministry of health Uganda has also confirmed 143 new COVID-19 cases from 2,849 samples tested on 15th September, 2020.

Of the confirmed cases, 135 are alerts and contacts including 66 from Kampala, 15 from Buikwe, 14 from Lira, 7 from Mbale , 7 from Tororo , 5 from Soroti, 3 from Bundibugyo, 3 from Buvuuma, 8 from Kiryandongo, 2 from Wakiso, 1 from Arua, 3 from Masaka and 1 from Zombo.

The other eight (8) cases are returnees 4 of whom arrived from Oman, 1 from India, 1 from Senegal, 1 from UK and 1 from Ethiopia.

To date, Uganda registers a cumulative total of 5,266 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 2,404 recoveries and sixty (60) COVID19 deaths.
