COVID-19: Uganda’s Death Toll Rises to 61 as 214 Test Positive

Uganda has registered one (1) COVID19 death from Kampala bringing the total number of COVID19 deaths to sixty one (61).

The ministry of health Uganda has also confirmed 214 new COVID-19 cases from 2,636 samples tested on 17th September, 2020.

Of the confirmed cases, 212 are alerts and contacts including 58 from Pader, 38 from Kampala, 36 from Butaleja, 16 from Lamwo, 12 from Mbale , 10 from Jinja , 8 from Gulu, 7 from Arua, 6 from  Kapchorwa, 3 from Soroti, 3 from Wakiso, 2 from Kween, 2 from Omoro, 2 from Adjumani, 1 from Alebtong, 1 from Amuru, 1 from Bukwo, 1 from Busia, 1 from Dokolo, 2 from Masaka, 1 from Masindi and 1 from Kikuube.

The other cases include one (1) truck driver who arrived from Elegu and one returnee from Rwanda.

Currently, Uganda registers a cumulative total of 5,594 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 2,544 recoveries and sixty one (61) COVID19 deaths.
