COVID19 Hits UNRA, Six Cases Confirmed

Six (6) staff of Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) have tested positive for COVID19.

“Of the six, five were confirmed from UNRA Headquarters, Nakawa Business Park while the other was identified at UNRA regional office in Masindi.” read part of a statement from UNRA management

The confirmed cases are from 494 samples taken between August 19 and 20 for which results for 222 samples out of have been received.

UNRA and Ministry of Health have since rolled out the respective incident management protocols and the much needed health support system that will include psycho social services to our affected members of staff currently under medical care.

‘We appeal to all our clients and the general public to continue practicing proper health hygiene as advised by the Ministry of Health including regular washing of hands, wearing face masks, avoiding close contact and refraining from shaking hands among others,’ UNRA management said.

UNRA has now joined a list of both government and private agencies that have reported infections in the recent weeks. Key among others OPM, KCCA, Toyota, NTV, NBS, Vision Group among others.
