FDC, NRM Clash Over Gomba West Candidate

A serious rift has erupted between the National Resistance Movement (NRM) which is the ruling Party and the main Opposition party Forum for Democratic Party (FDC) over Gomba West Candidate Spyreports has learnt.

According to the reliable information obtained by Spyreports, FDC accuses NRM for fielding their Candidate to take the seat ahead of 2021 general elections.

The Candidate who has brought a serious rift between the two powerful Parties has been identified as Eng. Kaggwa Wilberforce.

According to the letter, which FDC wrote to NRM Electoral Commission Chairman Dr Tanga Odoi claims that NRM has fronted their candidate for their seat yet the same person is actively the Member of FDC who registered with the Party on 13 February 2015.

The letter further says that Kaggwa has been the mobilizer for FDC in Kawempe South in Kawempe Division. “Eng Kaggwa has been instrumental in mobilizing and recruiting FDC Members especially in Butambala, Gomba and neighboring districts,” reads part of the FDC letter to NRM.

FDC further says, Kaggwa has never returned their party card or at any time denounce his allegiance to FDC meaning that he is still their Member

“I write this letter to protest against the nomination of the above candidate on the NRM ticket for Gomba West constituency in the upcoming elections,” the letter adds

“It is very disappointing to say the least that NRM shamelessly stole our member and lied to the whole country especially the people of Gomba that he is your candidate,” adds the letter.

“How can NRM, a party that has spent so many years in power fail to groom its own cadres?”

When contacted NRM Spokesperson Rodgers Mulindwa for the Comment he said, “It would be madness NRM to front FDC Candidate in any Constituency,” he said.

However when we insisted and told him that there evidence linking Eng.Kaggwa to FDC he says we should forward him the evidence and would respond back. Evidence was forwarded to him via his Watasp number and failed to respond by press time. When we called his number, he failed to pick.
