Gen Kayihura Fighting for His Life at German Hospital

Former Inspector General of police Gen. Kale Kayihura has been admitted at a hospital in German.

Gen Kayihura’s close friend intimated to this investigative website that the embattled former police chief is admitted in Munich city where doctors are walking tooth and nail to see save his life.

Kayihura who was escorted by his wife Angel Kayihura and the daughter were expected to be at the hospital for a period of two weeks.

He was expected to appear before the General court martial on November 1st for further mentioning of his case but this website has learnt that his lawyers have already notified the court about his health condition.

Last month, Gen Kale was also rushed to Nairobi Kenya where he underwent treatment after court martial granted him bail in Makindye.

He is battling three counts: two counts of failure to protect war materials, and aiding and abetting kidnap and illegal repatriation of Rwandese exiles which he pleaded innocent.
He was released on bail by military court martial chairman Lt Gen Andrew Gutti granted Kayihura bail on six conditions.

The conditions included Kayihura executing a Shs 10 million bond, not cash, each of his sureties executing Shs 5m bond not cash, to restrict his movements to only Kampala and Wakiso districts, report to the court once a month, report to court whenever he is required and not to travel outside the country without court’s permission.

This was after his lawyers urged before court that Kayihura at 62 years is of advanced age and has never been convicted of any criminal offence.

They said their client’s health is worrying hence the need for him to be flown out of Uganda for medical examination.

He presented Generals James Mugira and Samuel Kavuma plus Entebbe Municipality MP Rosemary Tumusiime. Kavuma is the deputy commander of the army’s land forces.
